Overview

The Algarve is the sunny southern coast of Portugal. It provides a wonderful combination of natural beauty, featuring beautiful beaches and impressive cliffs, as well as charming historic towns. This 4-day itinerary offers the ideal balance to explore the region.

Leaving from Lisbon airport or your hotel, you will reach Lagos in approximately three hours and thirty minutes. Check-in at the hotel, free time.

In the afternoon you will explore the historic city centre and learn more about it. Walk through the cobblestone streets, admire the white limestone buildings and their tiled facades. You will visit the Governor’s Castle and Lagos fortress. In the evening, you will have free time to enjoy traditional Algarve cuisine in one of the many restaurants in the Old City. End your day with a pleasant walk along Lagos Marina.

Stay overnight in Lagos.

Breakfast at the hotel. Your day will start with a boat ride to Ponta da Piedade and its beautiful limestone cliffs, its caves and secluded beaches. After this we move on to Sagres, an extensive seaside fortress with impressive walls, bulwarks and a unique wind compass. Free time for lunch.

On the way back to Lagos, a stop at Baleeira harbor, a picturesque place where the local fishermen make and repair their fishing nets. Overnight in Lagos.

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Silves historic city, where you will visit an impressive castle, with origins dating back to Roman times, and completed by the Arabs between the 8th and 13th centuries. Inside, you can walk along the walls andsee various remnants of Arab occupation, making it the best example of Arab military architecture in Portugal. After the castle visit, a short trip to the charming village of Porches, famous for its clay workshops. Here, you can observe local artisans as they complete their hand-painted pieces.

Next, we will head to Ferragudo, a fishing village that has preserved its traditional charm and the authentic Algarve ambiance. After trying some freshly caught fish at one of the local restaurants on the Ferragudo shoreline, you can stroll through the city’s narrow cobblestone streets, admire the floral decorations, and take in the magnificent panoramic views of the surrounding area.
