Overview
Santiago de Compostela is the capital of the Spanish region of Galicia, a green coastal area in the northwest of Spain, known for its high cliffs over the sea and it’s “Rias”, large portions of sea that enter the land, much like a river. With a deeply rooted Celtic heritage, this region also offers a great gastronomy, where seafood and the “Albariño” wine are major highlights.

Itinerary
Leaving at 9h00, we will head off to Santiago de Compostela, for ages and to this day one of the main destinations for catholic pilgrimages. It’s very impressive cathedral houses what many consider to be the tomb of Saint James, and is a masterpiece mixing romanesque, gothic and baroque styles. The old city, a very large historic centre, with its medieval squares, is a spiritual beacon for pilgrims and a cultural treasure for visitors from all over the world.
You will enjoy free time to visit the cathedral and the historic centre, don’t miss the Plaza de Quintana and the Plaza de Cervantes. At lunch, in a traditional restaurant or in one of many “tapas” bars, make sure to try the octopus, Galician style. If you want to know all about the pilgrimage, do visit the Pilgrimage Museum. After breakfast and check-out, we leave at 11h00 for Porto, stopping in Combarro, a fishing village known for its very traditional Galician architecture, including the “horreos”, specially built small storage buildings, many centuries old, aligned by the shore.
Free time for lunch, we suggest the seafood for which Combarro is also famous. Departure to Porto.
